Mountain Express is Crested Butte, Colorado's free public transportation service to get you around Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte. It operates a Town Shuttle 365 days a year that goes between the two towns, as well as condo loop buses that serve the major condominiums in parts of Mt. Crested Butte during the winter.

WINTER SERVICE

The Town Shuttle operates every 15 minutes and is a six to eight minute ride from Mt. Crested Butte to the 4-Way Stop in Crested Butte. The bus stops are conveniently located throughout the Town of Crested Butte and include: "The 4-Way Stop" (inbound) on the northwest corner of Elk Avenue and 6th Street (the main intersection of Crested Butte); "Old Town Hall" on 2nd Street and Elk Avenue; "The Nordic Center" at 2nd and Whiterock Avenue; "6th & Belleview" on Belleview Avenue between 5th and 6th Streets; "The 4-Way Stop" (outbound) on the northwest corner of Elk and 6th; and "Teocalli" on 6th just north of Teocalli Avenue. "Teocalli" is the last stop in Crested Butte before heading up to Mt. Crested Butte.

There are three routes that serve most of the condominiums in Mt. Crested Butte with frequencies of 15 and 30 minutes during the ski season. Each of these routes connects with the Town Shuttle at the base area of the ski resort (known as the Transit Center) in Mt. Crested Butte.

SPRING, SUMMER AND FALL SERVICE

Between early April (after the ski resort closes) and the following ski season, Mountain Express runs a modified Town Shuttle Route with two different schedules. During the spring and fall off-seasons, the bus runs every 40 minutes. During the busier summer season, the bus runs every 20 minutes.
