“June in the Rockies” Welcomes Summer in Gunnison-Crested Butte, Colorado

An action-packed month gets the season rolling with fun, amazing weather & great deals

GUNNISON-CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. (April 19, 2010) - Late spring and early summer are glorious days of blue skies, pleasant temperatures, trail openings and welcoming back tourists for fair-weather activities in Gunnison-Crested Butte, Colo.  To showcase the action-packed happenings of June, the Gunnison-Crested Butte Valley has teamed up to present the fourth annual "June in the Rockies." 

Plays, readers' and writers' workshops, stargazing at the Gunnison Valley Observatory, biking events, free outdoor concerts, fishing derbies, farmers' markets, art walks, Gunnison River Festival, Bayou in the Butte and Gunsmoke-n-Gunnison are all part of the fun.  Tour de Forks, a gourmet dining series that takes place in fabulous mountain homes in the Gunnison-Crested Butte valley, kicks off in June and concludes in September.  Find out about June dates by visiting http://www.crestedbuttearts.org/.

New this year is the first-ever Crested Butte Restaurant Week from June 11 - 18.  Diners and overnight guests in Crested Butte, situated at 8,885 feet above sea level, can revel and relax to their hearts' content for the price of $88.85 for meals or lodging.  Participating restaurants will offer multi-course dinners for $88.85 for a party of four, or $22.21 per person.  Establishments that do not serve dinner will provide multi-course lunch promotions for $8.85.  Special lodging rates will be available for $88.85 per room, per night.  Prices do not include tax and gratuity.  Participating lodging establishments, restaurants and menus will be posted at http://www.crestedbutterestaurantweek.com/ the end of April.
