Almont Resort offers 20 cabins, a comfortable restaurant, and a
saloon situated on the headwaters of the Gunnison River. Located at
8,026 feet on 90 acres in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Our historic
lodge, restaurant lounge & cabins were built at the turn of the
century and have been recently remodeled to provide you with
comfortable amenities.
Almont Resorts cabins and private
vacation home for larger groups is the perfect vacation spot in
Colorado for: couples, family reunions, weddings, corporate retreats,
hunters, church or ski groups with banquet facilities available.
Activities
in and around Almont include: horseback trail rides, fly fishing,
wildlife viewing, mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, snowmobiling,
snow shoeing, cross country skiing, downhill skiing at Crested Butte or
Monarch Ski Areas, and ice fishing at Taylor or Blue Mesa Reservoirs.
Stay with us and see why our guests come back year after year.
Our cabins can accommodate four to eleven people, most come with
kitchenettes or full kitchens. For larger groups there is the private
“River House” with 10 bedrooms.
The
resort was originally opened in 1893 as the Marston Hotel. From 1912 to
1918 the “Almont Sportsmen’s Association” owned the resort. In 1948 on
New Year’s Eve the Hotel burned down. The Almont Resort was rebuilt on
the original foundation and has been serving the needs of families,
weddings, private parties and corporate retreats.
The
restaurant serves home style cooking for breakfast, lunch & dinner.
With Almont’s best meals and cozy fireside or deck dining you may not
eat any where else while on vacation. Through the restaurant doors is
the Bar-47 a full service cocktail lounge with live music, dancing,
pool tables, air hockey, juke box, another fireplace and always a few
fish stories. Through the other dinning room doors is the fly shop.
