Over the years Gunnison-Crested Butte has been a choice location for filming movies, shorts and commercials. We've also created some videos to showcase many of our highlights. Please take a look!

Summer Activities

All within our 30 mile long valley you can mountain bike, hike and ride horses on epic trails. Go boating, fishing and sightseeing on Colorado's largest lake or, flyfishing, kayaking and whitewater rafting on the Taylor and Gunnison Rivers where class I, II and III rapids roll and "trophy trout" swim.

Winter Activities

Crested Butte Mountain Resort offers some of the very best alpine skiing, snowboarding, terrain parks, half pipes and tubing. The new Adventure Park offers year-round ice skating, bungy jumping and a climbing wall. Enjoy cross country skiing on over 90 kilometers of groomed trails, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and dog sledding.

Scenic Photos

The natural beauty of the Gunnison Valley is our largest capital asset. Breathtaking expanses of aspen trees dotted with towering pines, snow capped rugged mountain-scapes, flower-filled meadows, high desert sage and mesas, vast ranch fields and their bales of hay and cattle and, winding rivers and natural lakes provide an amazing array of vistas.

The Gunnison Valley is home to over 100 events a year! We celebrate our heritage, wildflowers, rivers and our colorful cultural assets. We've even been known to make up our own holidays as an excuse to celebrate!
