Donita's Cantina

Famous since 1980, Donita’s Mexican Cantina is a down-to-earth eatery specializing in flavorful food, ample portions, friendly service and a beautiful flower garden. Donita’s is definitely a local’s favorite because they serve up legendary homemade salsa, tasty burritos, sizzling fajitas, incredible enchiladas and margaritas galore. As a matter of fact, they have their own “wicked margarita” with a special recipe made only by Donita’s bartenders who are extraordinary!

Donita’s is locally owned by two sisters, Heli Mae and Kay Peterson. On any given night, you’ll meet one or both of those lovely girls as your hostess who will greet you with a smile and sincere welcome! Heli Mae and Kay are the essence of the friendliness and hospitality of Crested Butte. Both of them are very active in the community, love their “townie bikes” and are part of the Crested Butte Mountain Bike Association, making sure our trails are in tip top shape and, looking after “the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame” located right here in downtown Crested Butte just across the street from the restaurant!
