Whether you are planing to a Colorado Mountain Biking Vacation for a weekend, or for longer you will return home rejuvenated and a little tired too.
Gunnison and Crested Butte are Mountain Biking centric. In fact you will discover, if you come to visit, everything revolves around biking here. You might ask, "Why not?" Well we ask ourselves the same question over and over. Since the early Seventies biking has been more than a past time. It has been more like a passion for locals and visitor's in the "know."
Who comes here to ride? We have trails suitable for all abilities, and we are not just saying that. Whether you are a downhiller, a single track fanatic, or a recreational rider there are trails to suit. There are also guide services, clinics, and shuttle services if you so desire.
When does the riding begin and end? We are blessed to have some of the best slick rock style riding in the state at Hartman Rocks. These trails can open as early as April and extend well into the October, long after the first snow falls in the high country. featuring both short challenging rides and long training rides Hartman Rocks is perfect in Spring and Fall. we have created a trails report to help you plan your trip.
After the snow begins to melt in the high country a variety of rides open closer to the town of Crested Butte and then gradually extending deeper into the back country. In most years above alpine rides are open by July 4th.
