It is Recycled Art Week from August 8 to 12 at the Kids Summer Camp at The Studio Art School for ages 5 - 12.  Utilize unique recycled and "found" materials to create artwork worthy of giving as a gift or hanging on your own wall. Cars, Carving & Art Offer Supercharged Weekend in Gunnison, Colorado

Aug. 18 - 21: Gunnison Car Show, Carvin' Up Colorado, WOW and High Octane Arts & Crafts

What better place to talk cool cars than leaning under the hood of a classic car or street rod against the cool mountain backdrop of beautiful Gunnison, Colorado?  Combine that camaraderie with an arts and crafts festival and a wood carving competition across the street as well as community party to welcome new Western State College students and their parents for a weekend full of fun for all ages.


Bid on the Ride of your Life!

Ride in the Queen Stage of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge on Wednesday, August 24th.  The V.I.P. day for two includes V.I.P. parties, and watching the start from Gunnison, Colorado.  Then follow the International Pro cyclist Pelaton over Cottonwood Pass and Independence Pass in an official pace car.  End in Aspen, Colorado.  Lodging in Aspen and transport back to Gunnison included.  Silent Auction begins July 27, 2011 and ends August 15, 2011, 5PM.  Starting bid is $1,000.00.  All bids must be sent to gunnisonqueenstage@gmail.com.  Winner will be notified August 16, 2011, 10AM.  Good luck!

The Gunnison-Crested Butte Valley will be hosting two of the premiere stages of Colorado's inaugural USA Pro Cycling Challenge, which marks the return of professional racing to the Centennial State.  Be part of the only mountain top finish in Mt. Crested Butte, feel the adrenaline at the Queen Stage start in Gunnison, witness riders crossing the Continental Divide on Cottonwood Pass, and soak in biking culture at its best. Also watch two sprints through the hearts of historic business districts in Gunnison and Crested Butte during stage one on Aug. 23

Grab your friends and come join us in celebrating the inaugural USA Pro Cycling Challenge Colorado stage race with a friendly club ride in Crested Butte sponsored by Alpine Orthopaedics.  The proposed route will be the ‘queen stage' of USA PCC club rides - including a small bit of dirt road just like the race itself on Cottonwood Pass!
