A few well known personalities include Gloria Beam, MD, team physician to the US Summer Olympic Team in Greece, Head Physician for the US Olympic Committee and Team Physician for USA Basketball in 2005, and Physician for the US Alpine Ski Team just to name 4 of many of her achievements.  Local Dave Wiens outperformed Lance Armstrong in the 2008 Leadville 100 to take 1^st place over the record breaking, seven consecutive time Tour de France champion, and Rebecca Dussault, local cross country skier competed in the 2006 Winter Olympics.
